Convertible top motor is sluggish

My convertible top motor is sounding and seemingly getting more sluggish with time. I'm getting afraid that it will fail while the top is not fully up or down. Any suggestions for a non-mechanic?? Given the fuel pump thread going on right now, where is the top motor and how easy is it to replace?? Is it a Ford part?

The pump is a ford mustang pump. I had a similar issue with mine hold the button down
Runs for awhile before going up. If that is the case take it in and have the fluid changed and bleed you have air in the system
